You've been warned: This is gonna remind you of those school-girls-chasing-idols post. Well, girls being girls and whether spring chicken or not, we just can't help but be smitten by hunkalicious drool-worthy guys. Right, girlfriends? So in this case, it has to be Kim Hyun Joong!
Familiar? I'm sure some of you would have recognised him as Yoon Ji Hoo from Boys Over Flowers and the leader of boyband SS501.
Lately, I have also been catching up on a korean variety show which pairs up famous korean celebrities and offer a glimpse of what's life if they got married. Of course, no prize for guessing which are the episodes I enjoy the most =) I love Kim Hyun Joong's candid scenes which saw his humourous spontaneous antics with his 'wife' Hwangbo. There's never a boring moment with him around =)
Before I continue to bore all the male readers out there, I shall end it with this hands-down nose-bleed inducing solo performance:
In all honesty, the breezy weather and the running spirits in everyone were giving off good vibes for a motivational run. That's why it was made even better to be able to plod along with my super ultra running partner - it's always easier with company =) Okay I confess, I was plagued with stitches at the Sheares Bridge incline. Argh. I couldn't have kept going if it wasn't for Weiling's constant cheer of not succumbing to pain and pulled me along when I started giving in. At least that has gotten me through the first 7km but beginning to lose it subsequently. My pectineus was acting up and I felt like I was going to self-combust anytime, so I told my babe to go ahead without me.
Anyhow, I'm glad I made it out there all the same and beating my personal target of sub-3. That aside, I was also looking forward to the blood pumping and adrenaline rush as always. My greatest consolation was when baby returned from his glorious 42km run and gave me his finisher tee as a token. Apparently, he tried to complete the route in his fastest time possible, just so that he could grab the smaller size for me. Aww, so sweet ain't he?
It's such small and simple tidbits in life that make me happy =)
I'm sorry if all of you have been missing me for some time.
Here's what I have been up to!
I enjoyed those relaxing time spent with papa and mama over quality weekends. So loved! Anyhow, they brought me to the groomer for a proper spruce up and upkeep. Unlike mama who finds gratification in hair therapy, I beg to differ. In all honesty, I dread such sessions and will make sure that I'd be extremely difficult to handle each time, just so that papa and mama know they should never leave me again. bleah.
Mama taught me how to camwhore =)
Our motley family crew headed down to bukit timah for new exploration and mingling. We settled for a pet-friendly cafe and was welcomed by a pack of affable golden retrievers (reminded me of my wang wang friend =p). As usual, I was a little shy with all that fuss over the newcomer-me. Just then, something caught my eyes. It was a sheltie with a foxy coat of black with various blotches of white and grey, maundering the cafe like a lady boss. A pity that we didn't interact much nor charmed my way through. But am sure we will be back!
Could it be 'Love at first Sight'? Does it happens to dogs too? hurhur.
From the sub-prime mortgage to now the Dubai debt crisis, the economy is definitely not looking good in the health department. It has proven to be more vulnerable and far more malleable than we could have imagined it to be, so much so that we thought a financial education programme would do us some good and be economically prepared.
With host Michelle Chong
It was an informative session with lots of interaction and insightful tips on managing our personal wealth (not that I have much to begin with). The golden rule of thumb is to avoid market scuttlebutt and to take charge of your own financial planning.
and no, I'm not referring to this kind of love...REALLY
But, that of a movie date with my girls over the long weekend.
If I never recall wrongly, the last time we sat in the cinema together was during our schooling days and I have a thang on occupying the entire row all to ourselves =)
Thumbs up!
Like its predecessor, I enjoyed immersing myself in the world of dramatic dialogues between Bella and Edward. So emotional, so intense, so cheesy =p Especially Edward's diabetic inducing declaration of love - "Bella, you give me enough just by breathing". Awwwwww....
Truth be told, the second installment saw vampires and werewolves heating up the big screen. Obviously, the latter had more chunky onscreen time to mesmerise the ladies audience with their beefed-up assets. No wonder their temperature of about 108 degrees. For the last juicebomb, there's also the willfully funny scene which saw Bella insisting on watching 'Face Punch' with Jacob and another suitor.
As could be expected, I can't wait for the third and final impending screen chapters.
Not withstanding the wet weather these days, the skies cleared up somewhat, making it perfect to hit the CBD tarmac in the evening.
A quick short run was all I need to get my head out of the gutter and wind down for the weekend. Of course, the motivating factor has got to be the sumptuous buffet dinner at the floating platform thereafter. Oh, I even had free flow of Swenson ice cream as my race prep =) hurhur.
Managed to chill out with baby and co. as the night is still forever young.
I was brim full of excitement to meet the girlies for an evening of solidly-weaved, good o fashion comedy musical. Victor/Victoria was so brilliant that there wasn't any speck of soporific moments. Not only was it a heartfelt piece of entertainment, it explored the clash issues of homosexual and heterosexual lifestyles with a touch of humour. There were just so much to admire.
Romp aside, I really appreciate nights such as these, i.e. spending time with my fav girls, sharing common interests, talking about our jobs, geeky school days and of course, camwhoring! To the rest of the girls whom we have been missing, a proper reunion is beckoning.
End of year season = holiday mood = feasting = merry making = so many things to do = too little time =(
As we are approaching the end of marathon season, please tell me that I still have time to train for the impending final two races which are going to happen soon in two weeks time. The gloomy weather didn't help one bit. Instead, it made me settled into a quiescent phase and copping out on thoughts to bring the miles in. Argh.
So, determined to set off on the right foot, I joined baby and friends for a morning jog at MacRitchie Reservoir. It was a pleasant and quiet one, with the weather smiling good. Except that the forest trail was carpeted with mud, thus making the run rather challenging. The guys helped to push my limit further by making me going a wee bit faster, in order to keep up to them. In that respect, I'm really grateful. Really =)
The reward - Prata chow at The Prata House.
We went back home to freshen up before meeting up with Mel and Ashley at Velocity again.
Pre-show desserts at Cheeky Chocolate. I'm now an official crepe lover~!
Whilst I thought the show was a heavy investment in time, I was enjoying a mind-blowing visual feast on the big screen. Not to mention the humanistic touch that comes along with this disaster movie.
We caught our first Chinese film on the big screen over the weekend.
While I know nuts about Texas Hold'em, I managed to get some easy enjoyment out of the show. All because I get to see Louis Koo bare-chested in a bath scene. hurhur =) Of course, the all-so gorgeous female cast was much to ogle at too. Storytelling aside, the film did a good job by giving us a portrayal of refined Macau and a glimpse of contention with life in its people, no matter what their net worth. It's not just all about Portuguese egg tarts. I love the decent humour and charismatic interaction between the male leads. Then again, some might find their homoerotic attraction too much to handle.
Sunday was dinner with the paternal family members at Ten Mile Junction. I love bonding time such as this, when we managed some quality time catching up with our unceremonious conversation. Surprisingly, the usually quiet pop turned story-teller that night and helped saved the day when we ran dry of topics.
Cuzzies love =)
It's Jinglebell season soon and it's times like this when I wish I were rich. So that I can sprinkle my loved ones with pressies. That being said, I should start Jasmine's production line soon if I want to get the gifts out on time (me and my procrastination...boohoo). After my recent splurges during the holiday escapades, I'm quite broke now (more boohoos..). So, if you are getting something from me, it's gonna be a little something and I hope you will like them.
